- Chris, I had one experience in getting the messages you got. At that
- time,
- I was so stupid to leave my POP client (Eudora) on my Macintosh on. I
- went
- to some other places to login my UNIX system and run elm. Some mails
- just came and went and disappeared mysteriously, and occasionally giving
- the error messages. Later, I figured out that my Eudora is periodically
- connecting to the POP server and retrieving all the mails away. My
- setting
- on Eudora was "do not leave mails on server". I'm not sure whether this
- is your case. But do watch out for similar situations. Regards.
