- How are LZW-compressed TIFFs handled in Postscript (I'm thinking of
- a compressed TIFF placed in a Quark XPress document)?
-
- How is the image uncompressed? Is the decompression routine included
- in the postscript, or can the PS interpreter deal with the compressed
- image directly? How fast will the decompression run on a Linotype
- RIP 4 (a 68020)?
-
- I'm wondering if the savings in disk storage and transfer time (the
- RIP 4 is on LocalTalk) will be lost in decompression time at the
- RIP?
-
- Thanks,
-
- Jeff
