- Hi,
-
- Have you used behandler.ps ? Could you get it to work ?
-
- When prepended to an errant PostScript file, it is supposed
- to print out error messages, so you have a fighting chance
- to debug the postscript.
-
- It was interesting, and I thought it would prove very useful
- on-one-of-those-days .. so I fished out a copy. Then (luckily)
- I decided to give it a try.
-
- Nothing happened when I sent it with a PS file with a known typo
- to a DEC LN03 ScriptWriter. Hmm ... bug in the debugger ! :-)
-
- So I got talking to Fred, to whom this utility is tracable, when
- I learnt that each PostScript printer has different names for the
- server dictionary etc. So in general behandler.ps cannot be
- general purpose.
-
- I wish I had with me in that case, a set of behandler files
- for most popular printers, so I dont get caught tearing my hair out
- with an unknown bug and a strage printer when I have to borrow a
- printer when I am on the move.
-
- +------------
- So have you used behandler.ps ?
- Has it worked for you ? Which laser printer did you use it with ?
- +------------
-
- If you had to make any modifications in behandler.ps, could you
- mail me a copy please ?
-
- Or have you any error handler programs done in PostScript that
- work with your printer ?
-
- I'll summarise.
