- I posted this this afternoon but it doesn't appear in my news so I will
- post it again. Sorry if you get this twice.
-
- Hello to everyone (and please accept my apologies if I'm posting this in the
- wrong newsgroup. Please respond to my request for advice, since we are so close
- to New Year's holidays and many people are away from the net! Your e-mail may
- be the only one I will get!)
-
- I have a friend (13 years old) who has been using Turbo Pascal. He must decide
- by Dec 31st if he should take advantage of an offer to upgrade to a Borland
- Compiler for $150. He has learned Pascal on his own and likes spending time on
- the computer programming. He would also like to write applications for the IBM.
- Would the Borland compiler be much better for that purpose than Turbo Pascal?
- Are there any other good reasons why he should take advantage of this offer,
- such as the programming environment, flexibility of the language/compiler ?
-
- Here's what he has: Turbo Pascal (TP) 6.0
-
- Here's what he can get (for $150):
-
- Borland Pascal 7.0, plus
- Turbo assembler
- TP 7.0
- TP for Windows
- Turbo Debugger
- Turbo Profiler
- Object Browser
- DOS Extender
- write foe DOS protected mode
- open architecture
- WinFight
- WinSpector
- Object Windows (?)
- and some other stuff, including sample code
