  22.     I can recommend Mach2 Forth for the Macintosh.
  23.     Its strong points are:
  24.     1. inexpensive.
  25.     2. stable.
  26.     3. compiles to machine code so its quick.
  27.     4. straightforward access to the Mac toolbox.
  28.     5. menu selected templates mean windows and
  29.       menus etc. are easy to make for the beginner.
  30.     6. standard syntax machine code assembler.
  31.     7. the novice programmer does not have to worry
  32.       about implementing the Mac event loop.

  34.     Weak points are:
  35.     1. a rudimentary built in text editor.
  36.     2. the Mac event loop is handled by an IO task running
  37.       under the multitasker. This makes extensions to
  38.       the event loop conceptually difficult.
  39.     3. development has ceased but it will be
  40.       supported for later Mac System releases.

  49. Assuming Mach2 and MACH are the same critters, it doesn't sound like there are
  50. any updates in the offing.  A call might verify if they have a more current
  51. version than you do.
