- +Which of the various free Forth implementations should I use for a project
- +I'm working on?
-
- +I've looked at the Forths available on wuarchive.wustl.edu in the directory
- +mirrors/msdos/forth; the ones I've actually used are eforth, pygmy13, fig86
- +and min4th25. Of those, I like eforth (though it seemed to be missing a few
- +things, like double-precision (32-bit) values).
-
- +Whichever one I use, I want it to be small and fast.
-
- Just wanted to let you know that WUARCHIVE's mirror of SIMTEL20 (which is
- what you were looking at, in case you weren't sure), is very out of date.
- SIMTEL20 is only interested in MSDOS files, but luckily there is an FTP site
- that now holds a mirror of most of the FIG library on GEnie. Info about
- the site will be posted later on today (or the weekend).
-
- Again, I just wanted to let everyone know that the Forth files on SIMTEL20
- (or any of its mirrors) are very old, and that the collection itself, even
- as just MSDOS files, is very incomplete.
