- Greetings
-
- I am relatively new with internet. Is there a better place to
- post this question?
-
- I have seen some references to a "TIN" mail reader. Is there any
- information about a mail reader that works with Internet and
- resides on a DOS machine?
-
- I am looking for any of the features of SLMR or OLX
-
- 1) Off line reply, and bulk upload to proper areas.
- 3) E-mail address filled in automatically.
- 4) Ability to save formatted messages to a file.
- 5) Ability to collect or group messages of similar interest.
- 6) Quick Zipped up and down loads to save connect time.
- 7) Off line ability to join or drop conferences.
- 8) Any of the above.
-
- The closest I have come was the Computer Continuum in SF which
- has closed. There is a Computer Continuum in LA but I am looking
- for a local connection. This BBS does offer Forth in the QWK
- format.
-
- I am am a member of Wet Ware, but my accesses is very manual.
- The best I can do is the following
-
- RN \ read news
- \ it offers comp.lang.forth first thanks to the sysop
- Y \ Yes I do want to read it
- \ it gives me the first screen of the mail
- .-$ |CAT
- \ . tells it to send my unread messages
- \ I capture it in to a buffer
- \ I have to remember to..
- C \ tells it to catch up and mark all messages as read
- \ I go off line to read it with LIST.COM which does not
- \ offer any help with replies or collecting messages.
-
- It works, but once you have tried a off line mail reader you will
- be spoiled as am I, so that is why I am asking for help with
- automating these functions or better yet notification of a BBS
- that supports QWK mail packets.
