- Dick, aside from your original insult that I named the book
- to leverage off of someone else's work, I have told you the history
- of the title. I will repeat it here.
-
- I sold the book to M&T as "Embedded Systems Programming in
- ANS Forth". My editor prompted me for a new title. After several tries,
- I came up with "ANS Forth: Programming the New Model". This was shortened
- by M&T to "ANS Forth: the New Model". ANSI objected to the title one
- day before the book was due to press. The lawyers took out the "ANS"
- and made it "Forth: the New Model." M&T made this change the night of
- the final proofing for publication. I was not specifically informed
- of this change in the title until two or three days after the book
- went to press. I have no objection to the new title, and I would
- like to hear if Kelly or Spies object.
-

-
- I think there is little chance the reader will mistake my
- notorious name for the honorable Kelly & Spies, authors of the
- classical opus you cite. I have recommended that if you have any further
- questions, you refer this to my publisher, whose name and address I
- have given you in email. You have not replied to that email.
-
- Besides, you curmudgeon, you're just sore because you made a
- fool of yourself on the net a few weeks ago saying, "Trust me,
- NO publisher" will ever again touch a Forth book (because of X3J14).
- Descending to the occasion, Dick, jax says "Nanny-nany-poo-poo". :-)

- And Happy Hanukkah to you, brother Dick, from the grasshopper
- to one of the immortals of Forth.
