  13.     Only documents that are indexed using the IUBIO waisindex can be
  14. searched using boolean terms. Is this true?

  16.     For some reason, I was thinking that the boolean capability rested
  17. with the client. But I just realized that, even though our server was
  18. built with the IUBIO WAIS package, I'm not able to do boolean searches
  19. on many of the WAIS databases I've looked at.

  21.     I hope I'm not restating the obvious here, but, if this is true,
  22. it could lead to some real confusion for the naive user. I can see
  23. them searching an index with a term like "X and Y" but getting hits
  24. for "X or Y" without necessarily realizing it...
