- Does anyone know how color and otherobject attributes are handled in
- Wavefront .obj files? I have the .obj spec and there's no mention of where
- you'd specify an object's color or if it uses a particular texture map. I'm
- also trying to get a file spec on how WaveFront's texture maps are saved. Any
- help or leads would be appreciated.. Thanks.

- Hello,
- as far as I know Wavefront are not too keen on giving the texture
- info away. I know people who have looked for the same information and they
- were not able to get it. .obj files don't have color attributes, they have
- the material and texture attributes file names saved with them. You can
- edit this with VI or some other editor as long as you save your models as
- ASCII and not binary. By using the editor it is also possible to animate
- the textures and materials (that is, editing the .mat and .mtl files).
