- Inserting characters other than letters, digits and some punctuatiom marks
- can be a real pain on most platforms.
-
- On the Mac there is a wonderful shareware/freeare utility (CDEV) called
- PopChar that can be easily activated and allows selection of arbitrary
- characters in the currently selected font. No need to remember numeric
- codes or tendonitis-inducing key chords to access them.
-
- Is there a similar utility for MS Windows? The control panel applet
- `Character Select' is not nearly as convenient (aside from having some bugs
- such as assuming all character sets start at 32, and crashing if the
- character set does not go all the way up to 255).
