- Where are these fonts? Definitely not at [anonymous.tex.mf.cm.variants], since
- this directory does not exist. And not in the [anonymous.tex.font] tree.

- This sounds like the ``sauter'' distribution, which I maintain these
- days. (John Sauter at DEC did all the original work.) It allows
- generation of Computer Modern (and other typefaces based on CM) fonts at
- any point size.
