  16. makes TELECOM Digest materials available.

  18. I should mention The Super Continental BBS, which has a read-only link
  19. to comp.dcom.telecom, as well as a telecom files section with some
  20. material from the Archives (though not a complete or formal subset of
  21. Archives material). It is also home to a couple of related Fidonet
  22. conferences on telecom, cellular, FCC, etc.

  24. The Super Continental can be reached at +1 416 398.6720 using
  25. USRobotics HST/v32bis Dual Standard, 24 hours a day (maintenance, mail
  26. processing excepted). No charge to use or get access; downloads should
  27. be available on the first call, similar to Mark Earle's system
  28. description.

  30. Digest postings are limited on this BBS in a few respects: there is a
  31. message limit, and old messages are automatically purged as new ones
  32. arrive (at least the last 150 should be available). The newsgroup
  33. comp.dcom.telecom also depends on regional hubs getting the posts and
  34. reeling them in.

  36. Fidonet node number for polls, file requests, etc is 1:250/730.  If
  37. file requesting, try the alias name 'FILES' to get an idea of what
  38. file features are available.

  40. Hopefully a Fidonet-based Digest Archives mirror site can be
  41. established soon.

  49. [Moderator's Note: I am not getting as far with this as I expected,
  50. since there are other variables not yet resolved on this end. If
  51. someone would be willing to establish or maintain a dialup site where
  52. the Telecom Archives were kept (or some portion of them) along with
  53. perhaps a year's worth of back issues of the Digest and make this
  54. available to whoever wanted to call in and pull missing issues or
  55. other files, it would be greatly appreciated.  One person did write me
  56. about a month ago to say he was getting his site up and running and
  57. would have a telecom section; I am greatly embarassed to say I lost
  58. his name and correspondence. If he will write again, I will immediatly
  59. add him to the mailing list if he is not already on it.

  61. If those users who operate sites and allow dialup from strangers and
  62. are also stocking back issues of the Digest and archives files want to
  63. participate, please let me know. Around the first of the year I will
  64. print a list of all the phone numbers, site names and instructions.
