- When the configuration command "vines routing" is entered to first
- configure Vines routing the address is calculated and put in the
- configuration. Check the line at the beginning of the "write term"
- listing. It will look like:
-
- !
- vines routing 3000ff00.1
- !
-
- If the hardware in the router is changed the address in the config
- will not change unless one of two things happens:
-
- 1) Vines routing is deleted and added again using the commands
- "no vines routing" and "vines routing". When added again the
- address will again be calculated using the hardware currently
- in the router.
-
- 2) The Vines address in the configuration is implicitly changed
- using the command "vines routing 3000xxxx.x".
-
- This is true for all protocols in which an address is calculated
- using the router's hardware address. And for all those protocols
- the address is a parameter for the configuration command which may
- be defaulted in which case the router will caculate one. Once cal-
- culated it is in the configuration and will remain so until changed.
