- I must preface this by saying that as far as SLIP & BOOTP go, I'm no
- expert, but I will relate my experiences as a user of these:
-
- I had a similar experience with FTP SW SLIP a while ago, namely that it
- wouldn't work. Lately I tried MacSLIP from Hyde Park SW, and it worked
- fine. So I have a script for a Mac that will dial the Comserver, log in,
- put the CS into SLIP modem. After that, MacSLIP sends a BOOTP packet and
- the CS answers. Works great.
-
- I don't mean to blame FTP SW for it not working with our CS; for all I know
- it could be problem on our end. Hopefully one of our Comserver folks will
- have more to say, but I wanted to make the point that SLIP & BOOTP do work
- together.
