- We intend to use OSPF on our network with BGP border routers. The release
- notes for 9.1 say that "OSPF may stop working after 49 days. The workaround
- is to deconfigure, then reconfigure OSPF." WHAT???!!!!!!!
-
- The release notes for 9.1 also say that "If a router is configured for BGP and
- no BGP neighbors are active, ... then excessive memory utilization will occur.
- The workaround is to configure at least one BGP peer and to insure that is
- becomes active. This caveat was introduced in 9.0(2). Hmmmm. Will an
- Internal BGP connection be satisfactory? We intend to have 3 BGP border
- routers between our AS (running OSPF) and another AS. Therefore, it would
- probably be unlikely that both other internal neighbors are also down at the
- same time as the external neighbor.
-
- What is the software version we should run on these routers in order to get
- the best (most stable) OSPF and BGP performance?
