- That might have been true years ago (I always thought the SmartModem 300
- and 1200 were very overpriced) but their recent products have been pretty
- competitive in pricing. Check out their Optima line.

- Actually, the only marketing I've seen Toby doing here is posting
- occasional Hayes press releases. Some folks don't like that, but
- others (such as me) have requested that the press releases continue to
- appear here, so long as they have a modicum of informational content.

- Otherwise, Toby has been the most reliable source of technical
- information in the newsgroup, as well as our closest contact to
- various CCITT standard bodies. Participation in these bodies--which
- isn't cheap and is often a chore--is most assuredly a way to advance
- modem technology.
