- Yes, well... my ROMs are also 1.15m's, and while this has helped some, it
- hasn't fixed the problem entirely... just made it less annoying.

- They're middle-aged T2500's with the latest ROM upgrades; our site
- manager is very good about keeping our modems up-to-date.

- Actually, the only problem I had with the Zoom was the fact that it would
- incorrectly accept one of the PEP hunt sequence tones as 2400 bps
- carrier. Since these tones are interspersed with silence, the Zoom then
- got confused, thinking the distant modem had dropped carrier on it.
- Weak! I got around the problem by tacking a ';' to the dial sequence,
- waiting 30 seconds or so, and then going back online. Klugey, but it
- worked. Later on I discovered that Telebit T2500's can be programmed to
- put the PEP sequence after the CCITT hunt sequence, which would have
- fixed this problem in the first place.
-
- In any case, the Zoom 2400 v.42bis was far more reliable (with that
- kluge in place) than the 4800 bps v.32 fallback modulation I am forced to
- use with my PPI. I can use 2400 on the PPI quite reliably, though.
- C'est l'vie.
