- I am looking into buying a 9600/14.4k baud modem. I found this
- newsgroup only a few hours and after reading many messages, the number
- of questions I now have have doubled 8-(. It has also answered numerous
- questions such as the summary of responses in regard to buying a
- 9600/14.4k baud modem (thanks whoever posted that).
-
- Now, my question.....I have a IBM PS/2 55SX. I have no idea what
- UART it has. It can't find it in any of the manuals it came with
- and I can't even find it inside the machine. Does anyone
- know what UART is inside my machine? If it doesn't have a
- 16550 UART, where and how much is a serial board with a 16550 UART?
-
- If possible, please send email since I do not
- have USENET access over winter break (I would like to purchase the modem
- over winterbreak though). Therefore, I have to call long distance to my
- schools mainframe and much of the time messages have expired before I
- get to see them. Therefore, if anyone would like for me to forward any
- replies I get, just send me email.
-
- Thanks in advance.
