- I've noticed character lossage at extremely high speeds too, I don't know
- why, but I'm not blaming the modem. I think a normal interactive session
- just isn't as careful about things as a Zmodem transfer is. ;)
-
- I'm running through a terminal server and across the net to a Sparc, so I
- have plenty of fun speed settings:
- My DCE (computer-to-modem): 19200
- DTE (modem-to-modem): 9600 (or 14400 if I call LD :)
- Server's DCE 19200
- Net Speed One of those big Carl Sagan numbers.
- STTY (Sparc port speed) 19200
-
- As long as my DCE, the server's DCE, and the Sparc's STTY _all_ match, I don't
- get much in the way of problems.
-
- And with regard to your question about ROM upgrades, yes, it's that easy.
- Call PPI Tech Support (805) 496-7707, if it's after hours, leave a message...
- All they'll need is your name, address, and serial number of your unit. While
- you've got them on the phone, ask for v1.22 of QuickLink II/Fax, the software
- that comes with the modem - it's been updated too.
