- I just got a new PM14400FX less than a week ago. This is the first modem
- I've owned which does better than 2400 bps, but I seem to have got it
- going fairly smoothly. I can connect to virtually anything at 14.4k, but
- unfortunately, when I lock the com port at anything higher than 14.4k
- (especially 38.4k and 57.6k), characters are dropped all over the place
- during interactive use. However, file transfers are great (>2500 cps with
- DSZ Mobyturbo). I am using the Hayes-compatible factory defaults (at&f0)
- and have Hardware flow control enabled and Software flow control disabled.
- Unfortunately, the modem came with ROM version 1.15M -- can the newest ROM
- update (what is it, 1.21?) solve this problem, or am I doing something
- wrong here? If the former, is getting a ROM upgrade as easy as a call to
- the tech support line?
- Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
-
- Seasons Greetings.
