- Does any sysop out there actually have a PPI modem that works as well
- as your old 2400?...problem-free?...This is my second PPI 14.4FXSA
- and its even worse than the last one...this time, I can't handshake
- and negotiate with anyone like last time, and my board gets killed
- because
- the modem can't identify when people hangup on it, so it won't drop
- carrier...but this time, the LCD screen was installed incorrectly, so
- I can't read the two two pixel lines of the display....this is a
- disgrace....I really wish I had had enough money to buy a USR modem..
- 1.15M, 1.21, what's the difference?...my modem is just plain bad...
- I
- 've already tried both chips....the modem quality is just really horrible
- and unless you have ideal conditions, (optical line, and only calling
- other PPI's), the modem stinks.
