  21. command (i0 in lower case).

  29. The 1496E uses 1MBit EPROMs for firmware 5.0 or above (512kBit for
  30. versions below). 5.04 does only (to my knowledge) fix one minor
  31. problem when connecting to HST modems.

  33. I have, BTW, used 16.8 already under OS/2 and it works fine (I have a
  34. 16550). I use C-Kermit 5A for all communications.

  40. Forget all DOS fax software. I use PMFax (now called Faxworks/2?) very
  41. successfully with the ZyXEL 1496E+. The PMFax readme file even
  42. mentiones it as being tested (and one needs to put a special command
  43. for it in one of the config boxes for receiving faxes).

  49. Bitfax works with class 1 (sierra send/recv) modems, while the ZyXEL
  50. is a class 2 fax modem.

  55. Don't know of any that works with the ZyXEL, PMFax is a commercial
  56. one. If you want to write one yourself, the ZyXEL modem has a
  57. proprietary FAX mode which is very easy to program, see the chapter
  58. 13, page 2, "Extended Fax AT Commands".
