- I have a new ZyXEL U-1496E (ROM V5.02) and live in Germany.

- I'm a bit upset because I can't get my ZyXEL to work.
- I bought it a month ago and have since been trying to just dial
- a number, but all I get is a NO DIALTONE message.

- Sounds like a problem with the phone line, but I tried it at several
- computers and phone lines and with different terminal programs.

- Probably something's not set up properly, but I tried almost
- evrything. I had the modem checked by the company but all they
- told me was that the ZyXEL is ok and the NO DIALTONE message is
- correct!(?)

- I believe that there's no real problem involved and I would be
- thankful for any mail.
