  12. I have a new ZyXEL U-1496E (ROM V5.02) and live in Germany.

  14. I'm a bit upset because I can't get my ZyXEL to work.
  15. I bought it a month ago and have since been trying to just dial
  16. a number, but all I get is a NO DIALTONE message.

  18. Sounds like a problem with the phone line, but I tried it at several
  19. computers and phone lines and with different terminal programs.

  21. Probably something's not set up properly, but I tried almost
  22. evrything. I had the modem checked by the company but all they
  23. told me was that the ZyXEL is ok and the NO DIALTONE message is
  24. correct!(?)

  26. I believe that there's no real problem involved and I would be
  27. thankful for any mail.
