- I once wrote a reply to the FCC on this subject as a consultant. It seems
- they still have not learned a damn thing. TA to modem conversion is no
- different than analog voice to PCM conversion. What do those beaureau-
- crats think happens in analog voice to T1 to T3 transmissions? Hell,
- all kinds of conversions take place in the network. What matters is
- if an A is input, an A is output. The content is NOT, repeat NOT,
- changed. At the rate the FCC is going we will definitely be a third
- world country for communications.

- Exactly, and if the public would stop chucking bricks and make their
- needs known to the regulators, we might get somewhere. Some of the
- comments I have heard from local PUC people make me believe that they
- are living on another planet.
