  12. My company is using Rdb/VMS now, and we want to move to Sybase.
  13. To do this, we must convert the schema from Rdb to Sybase and
  14. move all the data.

  16. I understand that simple export/import will not work for this.

  18.     Is this true?  If so, what tools or facilities are
  19.     there that will assist in getting this done?

  21. Also, much of our code is in C with embedded ANSI SQL.  I know that
  22. many Sybase installations use stored procedures instead of embedded
  23. SQL.  My questions are:

  25.     Does C with embedded SQL work in Sybase?  Do I need
  26.     separately bundled components of Sybase to do that
  27.     (precompiler, ...)?  How fast and reliable is it?
  28.     If it doesn't work, are there tools to assist in
  29.     converting C with embedded ANSI SQL to Sybase stored
  30.     procedures?
