- My company is using Rdb/VMS now, and we want to move to Sybase.
- To do this, we must convert the schema from Rdb to Sybase and
- move all the data.
-
- I understand that simple export/import will not work for this.
-
- Is this true? If so, what tools or facilities are
- there that will assist in getting this done?
-
- Also, much of our code is in C with embedded ANSI SQL. I know that
- many Sybase installations use stored procedures instead of embedded
- SQL. My questions are:
-
- Does C with embedded SQL work in Sybase? Do I need
- separately bundled components of Sybase to do that
- (precompiler, ...)? How fast and reliable is it?
- If it doesn't work, are there tools to assist in
- converting C with embedded ANSI SQL to Sybase stored
- procedures?
