- I am hoping for some net wisdom here. We have a very large database
- and full disks, so we would like to do a direct to tape export. We
- are currently on Oracle v6.0.32 on a Honeywell DPX2.
-
- The problem we have is that we can not do a direct to tape export from
- a parfile. There is a prompt for the volume and since this is not
- a keyword, it can not be included in the parfile. So we end up
- tying up a terminal because the export must be done in the forground.
-
- The question: Is this different on other platforms? If not, has the
- problem been addressed in later versions and/or will it be different
- in v7?
-
- Thanks in advance.
