  11. I am hoping for some net wisdom here.  We have a very large database
  12. and full disks, so we would like to do a direct to tape export.  We 
  13. are currently on Oracle v6.0.32 on a Honeywell DPX2.

  15. The problem we have is that we can not do a direct to tape export from
  16. a parfile.  There is a prompt for the volume and since this is not
  17. a keyword, it can not be included in the parfile.  So we end up
  18. tying up a terminal because the export must be done in the forground.
  19.  
  20. The question:  Is this different on other platforms?  If not, has the
  21. problem been addressed in later versions and/or will it be different
  22. in v7?
