- NOTES:
- I'm trying to use Ingres 6.4 on an IBM RS6000 w/ AIX 3.2, working from
- an IBM X-Station 120.
- Somehow, we don't seem to have any AIX-specific Ingres documentation.
- We're not an Ingres-house, obviously, just a 3rd party s/w developer
- trying to interface with a variety of DBMS's, including Ingres.
-
- PROBLEM:
- When I start a normal aixterm, my TERM environment variable is automagically
- set to "aixterm-m". Ingres forms don't recognize that.
-
- If I then set TERM_INGRES to "aixterm", I can actually start accessdb and use
- the function keys, except that some of the things I want to do are mapped to
- keys F13-F15, which don't exist on my keyboard. Besides that, the graphics
- characters show up as garbage characters instead of lines. I can work around
- the first problem easily enough by using the Menu key and the first letter of
- the thing I want to do, but it's still a nuisance. The second problem is a
- nuisance, as well.
-
- QUESTION:
- Can anyone tell me what I need to do to use Ingres Forms from an IBM X-Station
- in a way that Ingres Forms really likes? Is there such a thing?
