  12. I have recently added several items to the archive of Informix-related files
  13. that I maintain on mathcs.emory.edu.  Rather than announce them separately,
  14. I thought I would post the index file for the "pub" directory.
  15.  
  16. The first file below is /pub/informix/pub/INDEX, the aforementioned index file.
  17. The second is my canned blurb about how to access the archive.  Note that there
  18. are other directories besides "pub".
  19.  
  20. The archive can be accessed directly only via anonymous ftp.  However you may
  21. also use one of the third-party ftp mail servers on the Net to access the
  22. archive via e-mail.  Let me know if you need information on how to do that.

  33. All files are in ASCII unless otherwise noted.  Files with names ending in
  34. ".shar" are shell archive files that should be unpacked under Unix using
  35. /bin/sh.

  37. Files with names ending in ".msg" are mailing list messages or Usenet articles
  38. that contain source code.  Such code may or may not be included in the message
  39. text as a shar.  These files are duplicated in this directory for convenience
  40. as the archive manager's time permits.  The directories in /pub/informix/list
  41. should be considered the primary location for these files.

  88. An archive of Informix-related files and selected past messages from the
  89. Informix mailing list and the Usenet newsgroup comp.databases.informix is
  90. available for anonymous FTP.

  92. The kind folks at mathcs.emory.edu have allocated a segment of their ~ftp for
  93. the archive.  The system's full domain-style name is emory.mathcs.emory.edu,
  94. and its IP address is 128.140.2.1.  Note that this is not the same system as
  95. the home of the Informix mailing list.

  97. If you've never used anonymous ftp, here is a quick primer, in the form of a
  98. sample session, with comments in {}.  Lines where you type something are

  120. There is currently no mail server on mathcs.emory.edu for this archive.  You
  121. must be able to ftp to mathcs.emory.edu to access the archive, or use one of
  122. the ftp mail servers on the Internet.

  128.            das13.snide.com.  See the file das13/Help or send mail with a

  139. The file ~ftp/pub/informix/ls-lR is an ASCII file that contains a full listing
  140. of the entire archive in a slightly modified "ls -lR" format.  To keep this
  141. file small, individual mailing list message files are not listed.  Instead,
  142. monthly file and character counts are reported.

  144. If you plan to be retrieving many files at one time, please try to do so during
  145. off-hours.  mathcs.emory.edu is located in the Eastern time zone of the USA.
