- I care. Take any sample comp.sources.misc/unix posting of, say, 250k.
- Compress it with compress and zip 1.9. The version compressed by zip
- will be about 35% less in size than that compressed with compress.

- Go ahead and use compress for the rest of your lifetime. Nobody will
- disturb you. But beware, FSF is about to introduce a compress
- replacement for the GNU system - it uses the zip 1.9 compression
- engine ... it may or may not become a standard for other Unix systems
- as well, we will see.
