- I had this one. In my USENET file I had the statement:
-
- DEFAULT /dir=w:\news
-
- This statement had worked fine in plain vanilla Waffle 1.65. Using HellDiver
- I could not see any news. So, when all else fails, RTFM (Waffle's, that is).
- Although Tom Dell does not seem to explicitly state that the operand of the
- /dir statement *must* be enclosed in double-quotes, the example provided
- shows the operand in double quotes. After changing the statement to:
-
- DEFAULT /dir="w:\news"
-
- Note the enclosing double-quotes; HellDiver found the newsgroups OK.
- Maybe you have the same problem I encountered.
-
- Tom, are you watching? Your documentation is excellent. You do have
- an audience that you may not have anticipated: Waffle Add-On software
- developers. For those of us who are making Waffle Add-Ons, could you
- provide BNF specification for all your command languages: STATIC,
- DIRS, NEWSGROUP files, etc...? This would remove all ambiguity when
- we have to design interpreters for your commands.
-
- We all understand BNF. Right? :-)
