- The one I use and prefer is the MegaMail offline mail reader, version 2.10.
- MegaMail (sometimes referred to as "MegaReader", because of the companion
- door that shares the "MegaMail" name). Written by Kip Compton, MegaMail
- (the reader) offers compatability with the .QWK standard, as well as its own
- proprietary MegaMail .DL standard. It stores all of its messages in one
- database for easy access. The reader has an internal editor (an external
- editor may also be used) that allows you to refer to ANY message that is in
- the database (ANY message from ANY BBS from ANY time).
-
- It can be found on many fine systems as MEGAR210.ZIP. Kip Compton is the
- author of the PCRelay and PostLink mail network packages (used by various
- networks such as RIME and Intelec). Lately, most of his time has been spent
- on PostLink support, but its rumored that he is going to be working on an
- update to the Reader soon. Considering that it is written in Turbo Pascal
- and with the new Borland Pascal with Objects being a major upgrade, I'd say
- a lot of new features will be in it. On the other hand, he switched to
- Borland C++ for PostLink, away from Pascal, so it may be re-written in C++
- which would still classify for some major new features. <grin>
