  10. I have a mess 'o questions for those unix wafflers (hmmm...I didn't mean
  11. it to sound quite like that) out there regarding how they have things set
  12. up.

  14. First the config:

  16.     - Linux public domain *nix
  17.     - Taylor UUCP 1.03
  18.     - Elm2.4.17
  19.     - Smail3.1.28
  20.     - C-news
  21.     - Trn2.2/Tin1.1p4/NN6.4.18
  22.     - Waffle 1.65

  24. All the Waffle to/from unix stuff like mail, news, etc. work just fine
  25. as far as I can see...

  27. And now for the questions...

  29. 1. I have all the /waffle/bin stuff set up with owner.group = bbs.bbs
  30.     except the setname and mailin bianies, which are root.bbs and are
  31.     also mode 4755...is that right?

  33. 2. When people mail from within Waffle to the Internet (ie...outside of waffle)
  34.     the mail headers go out with the username of 'bbs', the owner of the 
  35.     Waffle binary.  How can I get the headers to go out with the Waffle
  36.     user's name so replies work (I already know about the mailin aliases
  37.     I have to set up so Internet mail kicks to the waffle-only users) ?

  39.     [...I might add that I don't have a /usr/ucb/mail command under linux
  40.         and that I use 'elm' for it via a link since it's switch-
  41.         compatible...]

  43. 3. What is the preferred way for people to mail to me/root/system so that 
  44.     it kicks to the normal o/s shell (where I have 'real' Elm) ? I do
  45.     all my work in the shell under 'X' and don't really want to get into
  46.     Waffle too much if possible.

  48. 4. When I shell out of Waffle when logged in as a generic joe-user, and I
  49.     do a 'whoami' at the shell level, it shows me as 'bbs' even though
  50.     the username I was logged in as is a real shell user.  Shouldn't I
  51.     be shown as 'myusername' in the shell ?

  53. Is there anything else I need to know that's peculiar in unix Waffle 
  54. that differs from the way DOS Waffle is set up and works ?
