- I have also converted over to OS/2 2.0 (with service pack installed) for
- running my BBS.

- With the usual OS/2 comm drivers, this is definitely the case. I have
- other drivers here that solve the throughput problems wonderfully though,
- and in fact my transfers are just as good as under native MS-DOS 5.0.
-
- I can't release the drivers I have, however at least one version (0.15)
- was released into the Fernwood OS/2 Drivers file area recently. Install
- these in place of COM.SYS and VCOM.SYS per the instructions and you will
- have *much* better results with throughouts.

- I have my threshhold set at 70% and 15 seconds here for comm apps and it
- allows me to run two communications sessions side by side very nicely. You
- may have to tweak to find what works best for you though. You won't get
- good multi-tasking under OS/2 2.0 if you disable idle detection for comm
- apps...

-
- Yes indeed. I'm running under OS/2 2.0 in a DOS session using the SIO
- comm driver. Throughputs are wonderful and I have node 2 ready to go
- online as soon as the phone line is installed and activated. The new node
- will run only native OS/2 software though, which currently means Waffle
- will only be available on the DOS session node.

-
- That's mainly the fault of OS/2's distributed comm drivers. Get the SIO
- drivers and dump COM.SYS and VCOM.SYS totally.
