  15. A few weeks ago I posted a "help" message titled: "USER VALIDATION & FILES".
  16. First off, thanks for all the (net and email) replies but I'm not out of the 
  17. woods yet... ;)
  18.  
  19. SUMMARY: New installation (Waffle out of the box), Waffle 1.65 for DOS.
  20. PROBLEM: Users cann't access FILES area even after being validated (VAL).
  21.          "Validation is required to use the FILES section." message generated 
  22.  
  23. The problem remains unchanged, EXECPT, there seems to be a workaround: If
  24. I up the PRIVILEGE level (with ADMIN S) to "9" then the user can access
  25. the FILES area! 
  26.  
  27. So, the problem does NOT seem to be related to "errors" in /waffle/system/dirs,
  28. in /static, missing directories, etc. since that prevent even a user with 
  29. PRIV=9 to access FILES... Once in there, all seems normal.
  30.  
  31. All the settings for the "default" account and the other account, using the ADMIN 
  32. commands seem normal. "ADMIN F" has access to files = "Y", etc.
  33.  
  34. BOTTOM LINE: Anyone with PRIVILEGE < 9, can not access the FILES area, period! 
  35.  
  36. I've grep"ed" left 'n right under /system for a parameter that defines the 
  37. "minimum" PRIV level for the FILES area and didn't find any...
  38.  
  39. Remember, this was a new Waffle installation and not an upgrade...
