  11. I recently upgraded our modem to a 14.4k model.  As part of that process
  12. I have installed a fossil driver and locked the baud rate at 19.2KB.
  13.  
  14. I believe our mail feed uses Telebit Trailblazer modems.  When we
  15. connect, we agree on a baud rate of 9600 baud with no error correction
  16. protocol.  We can successfully call them, but when they call us, we get
  17. large numbers of errors and the line is dropped.  I thought the problem
  18. might be with them, but have also noticed similar problems with another
  19. site that occasionaly calls us using a 2400 baud modem.

  21. When my home machine calls in at 14.4kb, all is well.  We do have
  22. hardware handshaking enabled.
