- I highly recommend the Telebit modems. I have nothing but praise for
- them. Minutes passed as I deliberated the purchase of a Worldblazer,
- and after a false start with shipping, finally took possession of it,
- while it took possession of me.
-
- Forutnately, I have been using Telebits since their arrival on the modem
- scene, and configurations have never been a problem. Currently, I am
- seeing up to 1900cps with the UUCICO that comes with Waffle 1.65 into
- another WB, running on a DEC Unix box. Historically, it waffles between
- 800cps and 1100cps on 9600 v.32bis. PEP UUCP spoofing yields around
- 1300cps, average. Transfers of ASCII files with v.32bis and PEP are
- around 3400cps top, with 2700cps an average. Zmodem transfers are around
- 1620cps, on the average. These are with files in excess of 175K.
-
- Generally, a well-built modem that has exceeded my expectations. Plans
- for our Internet site include a couple of dozen rackmount T3000's (we
- don't need the UUCP feature on halcyon).
-
- If you'd like to borrow and old TB+ whilst yours is being repaired,
- feel free to shout.
