  20. Wouldn't you just set smarthost to "hishost"?  If hishost doesn't know
  21. what to do with arbitrary mail (by implication it doesn't), it should
  22. use bighost as a smarthost.  If not, complain to postmaster@hishost.

  24. The problem with smarthost: hishost!bighost is that mail for myneighbor
  25. (ie: myhost!hishost!myneighbor!user) goes up to bighost.  And if all
  26. of hishost's feedees (is there a proper word for that?) as leaf nodes,
  27. neither hishost or any of its feedees (including myhost) need to know
  28. about pathalias or anything -- they just know who they talk to.
