- First, this is not a review ... But for users of the Math. Expression
- Calculator (MEC) (mathfc23.zip), a program in the useful-program-list,
- they will find Daniel Corbier's Ultimate Calculator (ucalc12.zip) to be
- a good substitute ... Indeed the later is a superset of the former ...
-
- While both MEC and ucalc can evaluate standard mathematical expressions,
- the latter can also handle (simple) intergrations and summations, and
- solve equations ... With MEC, you can only define twenty functions and
- variables, but with ucalc, you can put many more of these to the file
- ucalc.def ...
-
- Other merits of ucalc include better online help and documentation than MEC
- ... probably as ucalc is a shareware (for US $15) whereas MEC is a public
- domain program ... :)
-
- Yes ... this is not a review ... With a backlog of 40 or so programs, I
- really have no time to seriously review any program ... The above is
- what I know of ucalc after trying it for several times ... All I can
- say for sure is that you will like ucalc ...
-
- Anyway, in the next issue of the useful-program-list, you will find
- the following new (?) entry ...
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Program: Ultimate Calculator
- Version: 1.2
- Upload Date: 92/10/27
- File: ucalc12.zip
- Size: 53,551 bytes
- Location: oak: /pub/msdos/calculator
- garbo: /pc/math
- Status: Shareware
- Comment: A high precison scientific calculator which you can operate at
- the command prompt ...
- Alternative: MEC (mathfc23.zip)
