- I've been using LISTSERV@VM1.NODAK.EDU to get files from Simtel recently
- (very quickly, too!) and I noticed that every file which comes uuencoded has
- extra bytes (compared to the total number of bytes in the official Simtel
- file list) after it is uudecoded. Does anyone know why this is so? I used to
- use DECWRL.DEC.COM, and never noticed this (but then I was never looking for
- it there...it might have happened there as well). It's no big deal to strip
- out the extra bytes with the "RV" program and the /x switch.
