- I am looking for all information I can get on the AI/ALife Cellular
- Automata programs that are floating around out there. I am interested
- in the structure of these programs and in just experiencing them first
- hand. I've heard a lot, but only seen a program called AAALife, which
- was interesting but seemed more primitive than others I've heard about.
-
- In particular, I'm searching for CA LAB or similar programs/software. I
- read about it briefly in MONDO 2000'S USERS GUIDE TO THE NEW EDGE and I
- just watched a special on TLC (The Learning Channel) about "artificial
- evolution". In fact, the final shot of that special was a digitized
- face seemingly being run through a CA program in which all the colors
- "evolved" their own behaviours and battled each other until only a few
- were left.
-
- That's one thing I'm really looking for, a CA program based on pixels
- that will allow you to import an image file and have the colors pitted
- against one another. A base, perhaps superficial, request...but I'm
- making it nonetheless. Anything that creates rather strange and
- interesting visuals would be a great addition to my collection.
-
- Thanks for your time, if you can help me, please post or email.
