  25.  Welcome to both ba.general and ca.general.  If you are new to the net,
  26.  please read this.  Just a bit of community memory.  (A reminder.)
  27.  The purpose of these news.groups is for "general" announcements,
  28.  local queries, and the like.  The purpose of these groups is NOT
  29.  for continuing or extended discussions.

  40.  Extended discussions on topics of political interest belong in the
  41.  ca.politics and ba.politics groups.  ADS BELONG IN THE wanted, forsale,
  42.  or market groups depending where you are.  These groups were formed due to
  43.  the frequency of these specific posting types.  Use them.
  44.  Special note to new users from BBSs like CompuServe:  The Usenet
  45.  differs significantly from these services.  Discussions are not
  46.  structured on the basis of who's logged on at the time (like CB).
  47.  A person can see your note days after you post it and make a comment.
  48.  So selection of newsgroups takes an important place.  Choose wisely.

  50.  It is not generally a good idea to ask for medical or
  51.  legal advice, those professions are regulated and licensed.  Advice from
  52.  novices can lead you astray, and you have no legal recourse against them.
