  13. I just bought a new car and, having signed and driven off in my new
  14. (used) Ford Escort 1990, I went over the papers in the calm
  15. atmosphere of the local Denny's and realised that I'm not quite
  16. happy with the numbers.

  18. Basically, because I agreed to pay over a two year period, it's
  19. gonna cost me extra.  I now realise that I could almost pay the
  20. whole thing off straight away which would save me over a thousand
  21. bucks.

  23. Is it easy enough to go back and change the contract without
  24. penalty?  I know in Australia there's a ten day cooling off period
  25. within which if the purcahser chooses, he may return the car and
  26. cancel the contract without penalty.

  28. Are there similar cooling off laws in California (I bought the
  29. vehicle from a reputable dealer, BTW)?

  31. I would appreciate an e-mail reply for the quickest response,
  32. preferably so that I don't miss the cooling off period deadline
  33. (assuming there is one).  BTW, if there is one, in days, is that
  34. days of business (i.e. not holidays)?  (I bought the car Monday).
