- Actually, only the windshield has this plastic film. It's called
- laminated safety
- glass. The side windows and rear window all use tempered safety glass. The
- tempered glass will shatter into tiny pieces so that none will be big
- enough to
- seriously cut you. The idea with the laminated glass for the windshield
- is that if
- something was coming at you while you were driving, you would want the
- windshield to
- be able to stop it before it hit you.
