- I had some interesting conversations with friends about the use of the
- word "fuck". Typically, the conversation went like this:
-
- `So what do you think is the difference between "fuck you" and
- "go fuck yourself"?'
- `One is ungrammatical, the other one is kind of grammatical.'
- `Yes, but what I actually meant was, is "go fuck yourself" milder?'
- `No, it's another way of saying "fuck you".'
- `So you wouldn't say it's slightly milder because it evokes a
- kind of bizarre image of masturbating or something?'
- `That's bullshit. Can't you see that both have the word "fuck" in
- it, asshole? Fuck is a bad word.'
- `Is it most effective when you say "fuck you" with a smile and in
- a sweet tone?'
- `Who told you this stupid fuck?'
-
- My question is, he is clearly using "this is stupid fuck" as a derogatory
- comment. Why should a word for a clearly pleasurable activity be used in
- this manner?
