- Old stuff. There was an article about Heilbrun in the NY Times
- Magazine back in November, I think. She and Ann Douglas were the only
- tenured women on the Graduate Faculty in English at Columbia, and as I
- remember it, Heilbrun felt that she was slighted by advisors funneling
- the best graduate students away from her, or those students being
- treated like pariahs by the other members of the Graduate Faculty.
- She was screwed on office space and support staff, whereas Edward
- Said--Columbia's other big drawing-card--got anything he wanted. It
- gets worse, but I can't remember the details.
