- While table cloth shopping in Columbus this afternoon, I stopped by the
- Honda place and looked at Civic del Sols. Although I found them cute, I
- thought of several serious drawbacks. When I started thinking about how
- easy it was last summer to toss half my worldly possessions into the car
- instead of figuring out exactly what I'd need on the trip, I realized that
- driving a Civic del Sol on a trip would require packing as if you were
- flying. More serious than that problem is that it would have taken me at
- least twice as long to get to the clambake in the red del Sol I was looking
- at today because I would either have had to drive half as fast or I would
- have been stopped by the highway patrol every few miles. That car exudes
- vibes of "I like to speed." The vibes coming from my staid and stodgy Civic
- Wagon, OTOH, say "Who me? Speed? No way. You must just *think* I'm going
- 110." One last thought that crossed my mind was that having a topless car
- would be pretty dumb since I would rarely have occasion to drive it topless.
- My old and cancerous skin is supposed to avoid the sun, and my old and blind
- eyes don't like to drive very far at night. So when would I enjoy its
- open top? I guess I could hop into and race madly around at twilight every
- day.
-
- All things considered, I guess I'll keep my boring car for a while longer.
