- Fair enough. I was only throwing my two bits ($US.18) in. A
- further vague recollection is that the Redemptorists went off
- to Japan to do some converting. They had vowed to always wear
- their garments (scapulars), but doing so in Japan would cause
- instant death. The compromise was to wear the garment in a
- modified form underneath.
