  18. He also wants Judith to come back and visit.  The last night she was here
  19. (or rather there since I'm here, not there, right now -- or rather the here
  20. that I am right now is not the here of the time I'm talking about) -- this
  21. sentence is getting too long.  The last night Judith was in Starkville,
  22. Bernard spent the first half of the night in bed with her instead of with
  23. me, thereby hurting my feelings.  He told me later that he did it to make
  24. sure she knew that she was a welcome guest -- that he didn't mean to hurt
  25. my feelings.  And he did, after all, come join me around midnight.
