  31. THIS IS NOT TRUE!  My wife received her Eagle modem last night.  It is
  32. V.32, and NOT V.32bis.  Quoting from the manual:

  34.         The Eagle V.32 fax/modem can be upgraded from a V.32 9600 bps
  35.         data modem to a V.32bis 14,400 bps data modem, resulting in a
  36.         50% increase in data transmission speed without effecting fax
  37.         capabilities in any way.

  39.         For more information regarding the Eagle modem upgrade, please
  40.         contact Prodigy Services Company.  In the upcoming months,
  41.         Prodigy will be providing details regarding upgrade
  42.         procedures, policies and pricing.

  45.         modem.  If you have not yet upgraded your modem, these
  46.         features are not yet available to you.

  49. my typo.

  51. I hooked the modem up and checked it out.  It is definately NOT
  52. V.32bis.  Otherwise, it works OK.

  54. There is NO documentation provided on the FAX capability.  No
  55. commands, response codes, or even mention of FAX except they keep
  56. calling it a "fax/modem".

  58. The original ad in the "Prodigy Star" (which I still have) states that
  59. the modem is V.32bis.  Unless the pricing of the upgrade is $0.00
  60. (FREE) then they have been a bit deceptive on this from the start.
